Stop-and-Go | Schicker Ford STL
Stop-and-Go
Stop-and-Go is a feature available on Ford trucks and SUVs at Schicker Ford in St. Louis, specifically for vehicles equipped with Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go. This feature enhances the convenience and comfort of driving in traffic or congested conditions.
Main functionalities of Stop-and-Go:
- Complete Stop and Acceleration: When the vehicle is using Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop-and-Go and approaches a slower-moving vehicle in its path, the system can bring the vehicle to a complete stop automatically. If the vehicle in front starts moving again within three seconds of coming to a stop, the system will accelerate the vehicle back to the preset cruising speed without any action required from the driver.
- Keeping the Vehicle at a Complete Stop: Stop-and-Go allows the vehicle to remain at a complete stop without the driver having to continuously press and hold the brake pedal. This feature is particularly useful in heavy traffic situations, where frequent stopping and starting can be tiring for the driver.
- Intervention Required After Three Seconds: If the vehicle comes to a complete stop, and the stop lasts longer than three seconds, the driver must intervene to resume the system's operation. The driver can do this by either tapping the RES+ button on the steering wheel or pressing the accelerator pedal. This ensures that the driver remains engaged and in control of the vehicle.
Overall, Stop-and-Go is a valuable feature that adds convenience and reduces driver fatigue in stop-and-go traffic situations. It allows for smoother and more comfortable driving experiences, especially during extended periods of congestion or slow-moving traffic. However, it's important for drivers to remain attentive and be ready to take control of the vehicle if needed, as the system's functionality may have limitations in certain driving scenarios.
