Living in a major U.S. city has its perks and its drawbacks, but if St. Louis, MO is your destination, there are many things you’ll find to love about living here. This incredible city, located on the eastern border of Missouri, is an eclectic mix of urban living and traditional midwestern values.

It’s Gorgeous

No matter where you look in the city, you’re sure to catch a glimpse of the historic buildings, landmarks, and features that tell a major part of the nation’s story. Of course, the iconic Gateway Arch is the most famous of these, but there are dozens of other historic structures in and around the city. These buildings and monuments provide a stunningly magnificent visual landscape that’s a unique blend of old-world architecture combined and new-world innovation.

The Park System Is First-Rate

Unlike most large cities in the U.S., St. Louis’ city developers consciously planned out the city to have plenty of green space for current and future residents. Even as the city has grown and flourished, these green spaces have been preserved as parks, and that’s not going to change. There are more than 100 parks in the city limits, and even more in the suburbs surrounding the city. There’s no lack of outdoor recreational locations in St. Louis.

The Culinary Scene Is Phenomenal

You’ll always be able to find some of the best comfort food in the country while you’re in St. Louis. From fried ravioli to St. Louis-style pizza and baked macaroni and cheese, you’ll never leave a restaurant hungry. Not only that, but you’ll also find diverse flavors such as Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, and Thai in various neighborhoods of the city. You can try a new food every day, if you’d like, and still not get through them all.

The Beer Is Also Good

St. Louis is the home of Anheuser-Busch, which makes one of the country’s most recognizable beers, Budweiser. However, this mainstream beverage isn’t the only one you’ll find in town, as dozens of microbreweries have made their mark in the craft beer niche as well. Just remember that alcohol is for adults only and if you decide to drink, do so responsibly and never drink and drive.

Live Music Is Around Every Corner

There’s a reason that St. Louis’ hockey team is named the Blues. This city is renowned for blues music and produced some of the most famous blues songs ever recorded, including House of Blues. That being said, you’ll find more than just blues music on the streets of St. Louis. There are rock ‘n’ roll venues, country bars, and hip hop clubs dotting the downtown scene. You’ll never run out of good music to listen to in this city.

Sports Are a Religion

Speaking of the St. Louis Blues, that’s just one of the major league sports teams you can root for in St. Louis. Of course, the other one is the St. Louis Cardinals, the major league baseball team that’s brought 11 World Series trophies to the city. Both sports venues are works of art in their own right, too.

It’s pretty hard to narrow the number of things to love in St. Louis down to just six, but if we have to choose, these would be our top reasons for living here. Drive over to Schicker Ford of St. Louis to chat with us about other things we love about this fantastic city.
