2021 Ford Expedition
The Ford Escape continues to lead the pack of small SUVs for the 2021 model year. With comfortable seating, a smooth ride, and easy-to-use controls, it's no wonder drivers everywhere love tooling around town in the Escape. If you're looking for your next commuter vehicle or something to take on family adventures, this one should be at the top of your list. Check out the top features of the 2021 Ford Escape.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
You can get the 2021 Ford Escape in four trim levels, the S, SE, SEL, and Titanium. Ford also offers a hybrid and a plug-in hybrid for the SE, SEL, and Titanium, providing you with even more choices when it comes to customizing your ride. The S offers dual chrome exhaust tips, configurable daytime running lights, and a body-color rear spoiler. You get body-color door handles on the SE, a black mesh with chrome surround upper grille, and gloss body-color side mirror caps.
Moving up to the SEL adds heated side mirrors, black roof rack side rails, and a power liftgate. The Titanium upgrades you to LED fog lamps, 19-inch machined-face aluminum wheels with dark tarnish-painted pockets, and a hands-free, foot-activated liftgate.
Engine (Power)
The Escape offers three engine choices, depending on trim level, to power you down the road. The turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission will produce up to 181 horsepower. A second option is available for the SE and SEL, while it comes standard on the Titanium. This option is a 2.5-liter hybrid powertrain paired to a continuously variable automatic transmission that delivers up to 200 horsepower. The final option is available on the SEL and Titanium trims only. It's a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder that puts out up to 250 horsepower.
Performance
Ford adds plenty of performance-enhancing features to create a memorable driving experience. Front-wheel drive and all-wheel drive are available on the three-cylinder and hybrid options, with all-wheel drive standard on the four-cylinder. Thanks to the selectable drive modes, you can customize the drive to fit road conditions or personal preference. The 3,500-pound towing capacity lets you take the camper, boat, or ATV out for a weekend adventure with the family.
Interior
When you slide into the Escape, you notice that Ford has spent time creating a design that is both comfortable and functional. The S offers a height-adjustable driver's seat, six-speaker sound system, and Wi-Fi hot spot. You get keyless ignition and entry, two rear USB ports, and an 8-inch touch screen with satellite radio, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto capabilities. Enjoy the dual-zone climate control, power driver's seat, heated front seats, and heated steering wheel on the SEL. The Titanium adds ambient light and a power-adjustable passenger seat.
Safety Features
Ford knows that safety is a top priority when purchasing a new vehicle and offers a plethora of safety and driver's assistance features. Standard features include an advanced air bag system, blind-spot monitor, forward collision mitigation, and lane departure mitigation. Other features include adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping system, evasive steering assist, parking sensors, and an automated parking system.
