He progressed at the dealership from porter to sales person to General Manager, until in 1975 he bought into McMahon Ford Company (now known as Schicker Automotive), the first of many dealerships he would acquire over his illustrious career.

Bill Schicker expands his automotive dealership portfolio with the acquisition of Barreth Chrysler in Washington, Missouri, showcasing his dedication to providing customers with an extended range of choices in the local market.
In 2001 Barreth strengthened its product lineup by incorporating a Jeep franchise.
